  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion Optional for added zest.
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinaigrette Store-bought or homemade.

  • Rinse mixed greens thoroughly and spin them dry.
  • Core the apple and slice it into thin wedges or cubes.
  • Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • In a large bowl, combine the greens, apple slices, toasted pecans, crumbled blue cheese, and red onion if using.
  • Drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad and toss gently to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Plate the salad immediately and enjoy it at its freshest.
