Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey, chicken, or plant-based)
  • seasonings: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder

Base

  • cooked quinoa, brown rice, or mixed greens

Toppings

  • cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • lettuce, chopped
  • red onion, thinly sliced
  • pickles, diced
  • cheese (cheddar, feta, or your favorite)
  • avocado, sliced or mashed

Condiments

  • ketchup, mustard, mayo, or your desired sauce

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, add ground beef (or alternative) and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Break apart as it cooks, ensuring even browning.
  • While the protein is cooking, prepare your base in a separate pot. If you’re using quinoa or brown rice, follow package directions for cooking.
  • As the protein cooks, chop your fresh vegetables and prepare any toppings you’ll be adding.

Assembly

  • Start with a layer of quinoa or rice at the bottom of your bowl.
  • Then, add the cooked protein, followed by your choice of veggies and toppings.
  • Top your burger bowl off with your favorite condiments for that extra burst of flavor.
  • Serve and enjoy your delicious creation!

Notes

For added texture, include crispy bacon bits or toasted nuts. If you love heat, consider adding jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce. Store components separately in the refrigerator for up to four days.
