Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, deveined and peeled Fresh or frozen
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh for best flavor
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a luxurious texture
  • 2 tbsp butter To sauté the shrimp
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated For a slightly nutty flavor
  • 1/4 cup parsley, freshly chopped For garnish
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice For a zingy finish

Instructions

Preparation

  • If using frozen shrimp, ensure they are fully thawed and pat them dry to remove excess moisture.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute—be careful not to burn it!

Cooking

  • Add the shrimp to the pan, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook on each side for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently, allowing it to combine with the flavors from the skillet.
  • Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the mixture to brighten the flavors, and add parsley for freshness.
  • Plate the creamy garlic shrimp over cooked pasta or rice, garnishing with extra parsley and a sprinkle of cheese if desired.

Notes

Use quality ingredients and don't overcook the shrimp to maintain tenderness. Customize your sauce with red pepper flakes or a splash of white wine for added depth.
