  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, with fat trimmed off
  • 1.25 cups barbecue sauce (preferably sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ)
  • 0.5 cups Italian dressing (fat-free recommended)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cups light brown sugar (can reduce to 1/8 cup or omit if desired)
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • to taste Salt and black pepper

Preparation

  • Trim any excess fat from the chicken breasts and place them at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk them together until well combined.
  • Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the sauce in the cooker and stir until well coated.

Serving

  • Serve your amazing pulled BBQ chicken on toasted buns, over rice, or with a side of coleslaw.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider browning the chicken before cooking. Adjust seasonings based on taste preferences.
