Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh or properly thawed frozen shrimp.

For the Marinade

  • 3 tablespoons honey Agave nectar or maple syrup can be used as alternatives.
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice Fresh lime juice is recommended for the best flavor.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic will elevate the dish's flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Use extra virgin olive oil if possible.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the honey, lime juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Whisk until blended.
  • Add the shrimp to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Allow it to marinate for about 15-20 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated shrimp and pour the remaining marinade into the skillet.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

Serving

  • Remove the skillet from the heat. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro for a fresh touch. Serve immediately, and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery. For an extra kick, add red pepper flakes.
