Optional Toppings

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
  • Place the cubed bread evenly in the greased baking dish.

Custard Mixture

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until fully combined.
  • Gently fold in the sliced peaches into the custard mixture, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  • Pour the mixture over the bread cubes and press down lightly to ensure absorption.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for best results.

Baking

  • Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden and set. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.

Serving

  • Allow the bake to cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar or top with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

For a crunchy topping, consider adding a streusel made with oats and brown sugar. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in the oven or microwave.
