- 1 lb lean ground beef
- ½ large green cabbage cored and sliced (about 5–6 cups)
- 1 small onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¾ tsp salt adjust to taste
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup beef broth or water
- 1 –2 tsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce optional
Sauté onion: Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook 3–4 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
Brown beef: Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
Season: Stir in salt, black pepper, and paprika until evenly distributed.
Add cabbage: Add sliced cabbage and pour in beef broth or water. Stir well.
Cook: Cover and cook 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender and most liquid has cooked off.
Finish: Taste and adjust seasoning. Add soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce if using. Rest 2–3 minutes before serving.
