  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh or frozen shrimp works well, thawed if frozen.
  • 3 tablespoons honey Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Tamari can be used for a gluten-free option.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated Optional for added flavor.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 green onions chopped, for garnish Adds fresh flavor.
  • Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving Serve over for a complete meal.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger (if using). Set aside.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce over the shrimp and reduce the heat to low. Allow the shrimp to simmer in the sauce for another 2 minutes, coating them thoroughly.
  • Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped green onions on top. Serve hot over cooked rice or quinoa.

Notes

For best results, don't overcook the shrimp and use fresh ingredients whenever possible. Adjust honey and soy sauce to taste for preferred sweetness and saltiness.
