Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey (preferably 93% lean) For a juicy burger.
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs Optional, for binding.
  • 1 large egg Helps hold everything together.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or cilantro For added flavor.
  • olive oil For cooking.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and parsley until well blended. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough burgers.
  • Divide the mixture into even portions and shape them into patties. Aim for about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in thickness, as they will shrink while cooking.
  • For the best results, chill your patties in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. This helps them hold their shape while cooking.

Cooking

  • Heat a little olive oil in a skillet or preheat your grill. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • If you’re a cheese lover, add a slice of cheese on top of the patties during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.

Assembly

  • Place the cooked patties on a bun and top with your favorite fixings—lettuce, tomato, avocado, or a delicious homemade sauce.

Notes

Chill the patties before cooking to avoid them falling apart. Apply creativity with toppings to elevate the burger experience.
