Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries Use ripe blueberries for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Freshly squeezed for best results.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Rinse the blueberries. If using frozen berries, make sure to thaw them first.
  • In a blender, combine the blueberries, honey or maple syrup, and lemon juice. Blend until you achieve a smooth puree.

Baking

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Pour the blueberry mixture onto the sheet and spread it evenly with a spatula, aiming for about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Preheat your oven to 170°F (75°C). Place the baking sheet in the oven and let it dry for approximately 6-8 hours. The fruit leather is done when it's no longer sticky to the touch.

Cooling and Cutting

  • Once dried, allow the fruit leather to cool completely.
  • Use scissors to cut it into strips or squares, then roll them up and store them in an airtight container.

Notes

For variations, consider mixing in other fruits or spices for a unique flavor. Store your fruit leather in an airtight container away from sunlight to maintain freshness.
