Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Tortillas (flour or corn) Choose based on your preference.
  • 2 cups Cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a blend) Mix different cheeses for variety.
  • 1 cup Pizza sauce Use a rich marinara or store-bought pizza sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil or butter For cooking and achieving a crispy texture.

Toppings (Optional)

  • 1 cup Pepperoni Classic topping choice.
  • 1 cup Bell peppers, chopped For added flavor and nutrition.
  • 1/2 cup Mushrooms, sliced Add richness to the quesadilla.
  • 1/2 cup Olives, sliced Great for enhancing the pizza flavor.
  • 1 cup Spinach, chopped For a healthy twist.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather and prep your tortillas and toppings. Slice or chop fresh vegetables or meats beforehand.

Cooking

  • On one half of each tortilla, spread a layer of pizza sauce, then add cheese followed by your chosen toppings, and another layer of cheese.
  • Fold the tortilla over to form a semi-circle and press down gently.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil or butter. Place the folded tortilla in the skillet, cooking until the bottom is golden and crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Flip and repeat for the other side.
  • Once both sides are crisp, remove from heat and slice into wedges. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

Avoid overstuffing to keep the quesadilla intact. Cooking over medium heat allows for proper melting of cheese while crisping the tortilla without burning.
