Ingredients
  

For the cheese mixture

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (canned or homemade) Fresh pumpkin can be used if well-cooked and drained.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice (or blend of spices) Can substitute with a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove.
  • to taste salt and pepper

For coating

  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts Use for coating the cheese ball.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, pumpkin puree, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, pumpkin spice, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy using a hand mixer or spatula.
  • Shape the mixture into a ball, ensuring it holds together well.
  • Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours to meld flavors and set.
  • Remove the ball from the fridge and roll it in the chopped pecans or walnuts until fully coated.
  • Transfer the cheese ball to a serving platter and serve with crackers, fresh veggies, or slices of bread.

Notes

Can be prepared a day in advance. Store tightly wrapped in the fridge. Consider adding herbs for extra flavor.
