Ingredients

For the Frozen Yogurt

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved Use fully ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt (preferably Greek) Greek yogurt adds a protein boost.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Brightens flavor and helps maintain color.
  • a pinch salt Enhances flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash the strawberries thoroughly, hull them by removing the green top, and slice them in half.
  • In a blender or food processor, combine the halved strawberries, yogurt, sugar, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth, adjusting sweetness as needed.
  • Taste the mixture; if it’s not sweet enough, add a touch more sugar.
  • Pour the mixture into a container, cover it, and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Freezing

  • After chilling, pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer instructions. If you don't have an ice cream maker, pour it into a shallow dish and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes for a few hours.
  • Once frozen to your desired consistency, scoop it into bowls or cones and top with fresh strawberries or chocolate sauce.

Notes

For the best texture, use fully ripe strawberries and don’t skip the lemon juice. You can experiment with different sweeteners like honey or agave syrup for a healthier alternative.
